A Hawaiian reggae-rock trio that originally formed in the late 1990s in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Pepper has filled two decades with soundchecks, encores, album releases and sold-out shows that have stretched along the California coastline to the UK mainland while building an unshakeable community of fans. Now based in their adopted hometown of Southern California, Pepper’s three band members – vocalist/guitarist Kaleo Wassman, vocalist/bassist Bret Bollinger, and drummer Yesod Williams – are hitting the road after the release of their newest EP, “Makai,” roughly translating to “by the ocean.” With more than half a dozen collaborators on the latest release and new creative ventures on the horizon, Pepper moves forward in their mission to honor the Hawaiian homeland that remains the inspiration for the band’s art.

Since their inception in 2003, The Movement has been winning the hearts and minds of alt-reggae fans, making a name for themselves as shapeshifters within the genre, amassing over 373 million streams on Spotify and over 104 million views on YouTube. They’re joining longtime friends Pepper on the “High Tide Summer Tour” with special guest Joe Samba to bring their insightful lyrics and heavy drum and bass poolside after the successful release of their 2025 album “VISIONS.” The album charts the path through the cosmos and consciousness to leave listeners with a renewed sense of wonder and purpose, allowing The Movement to keep moving forward in their pursuit of pushing the boundaries and future of alternative reggae.
